Meet Chloe's sidekick and real-life partner in crime. This ruby King Charles Cavalier Spaniel is the baby of his family. As an infant, Dexter was quiet as can be. Though he still enjoys nibbling on a bone (or pillowcase) by himself, watch him come out of his shell as he sniffs out the scene of the crime, and gives Chloe a run for her honey.

The identity of Joey is slowly revealed, starting with his first appearance in The Case of the Missing Presents. A rescue dog saved at the age of six, Joey is proof older dogs and rescues can be just as playful and affectionate as newborn puppies. Joey blended into his family instantly. Surrounded by love and attention, he grows more self-assured everyday. He is also known as "The Protector," for he will put himself between Chloe and Dexter when either one gets too feisty with the other, and rushes to the door at the sound of the bell.
